Following on from last week’s feature on the latest AC13 drop, we have decided to stay a lot more up to date with the goings on over at CruCast, as they continue to raise the levels and intensify the melting pot of bass music with their rapid release schedule, never faltering on quality within the speed of their movements. Today, we are going to be taking a much closer dive into the bass-sentric end of their spectrum, with this hard hitting new three track display from WA-FU & Noy coming in at top speed and hitting the earth with the impact of a comet.
A little background on WA-FU & Noy, with both being based over in Australia, the pair have caught the attention of the global dance music community with their explosive musical creations and stunning use of sound design, rattling sub boxes across both the northern and southern hemisphere. This isn’t the first time they’ve linked up either, with WA-FU recently stepping up on remix duty for Noy’s ‘Too Busy’ original alongside Sophiegrophy, which caught the eyes of heads across the globe. This new EP they have polished up and put together is exactly the sort of powerhouse project we would expect to hear from the CruCast collective, so let’s dive right into it.
First up, we explore the stadium ready warps and kick-driven punches of ‘Vibes On Check’, which sees the pair link up for some ferocious sound design and high intensity rhythms, sure to set dance floors alight around the country, alongside a couple of festival stages too. Next up, Noy launches his solo creation in ‘Y.N.G’, a serious stomper, focussing of fuzzy low ended pulses and intense vocal slices, which then leads into the robotic synth chugs of WA-FU’s ‘Swear‘. This rounds off the EP with a seriously chunky feel, focussing on some of the most intense drum smashes we have ever heard, topped of course with more electrifying synthetic action to match and a cheeky saxophone solo half way through for good measure.
