With the summer season never very much at the forefront of everybody’s minds, especially with the notion that venues and clubs are only a few weeks away from finally being able to open their doors and welcome back the ravers to where they belong, DJ’s and party-goers alike are very much in the mood to find as much new music as possible. We all know that garage is the UK’s sound of the summer, and with their being so many fantastic projects bubbling away at the moment, the future is suddenly starting to look very bright indeed.
Today we are going to be taking a closer look at the fantastic Wang Records, who despite being unable to operate their primary function of an events company through Beastwang, they have ended up focussing their energy into releasing music which has proved to be a real success. They are back in action once again as they move into their third compilation drop from their super-popular ‘Avirex Airwaves’ series, with this latest selection looking like the spiciest one yet. We have to say as well, the artwork for this one is absolutely beautiful in it’s design, which is saying something considering we tend to focus almost exclusively on the sound itself here at The 3000 Network.
The project boasts the perfect combination of heavy hitters and lively newcomers, exploring that perfect balance between nostalgia and freshness with a varied selection of UKG-influenced original creations. What the Wang Records team have always done well is keep themselves open to new sounds, both in their live events and release catalogue, with this large-scale selection being another example of that for all to see.
