Sukh Knight links with Nebula Music for a typically gnarly two-tracker

It’s always a pleasure to dive into a spicy new slice of original dubstep flavour on The 3000 Network, as it’s an area of UK underground music that has time and time again proved so integral to the collective growth of so many genres. A large number of your favourite bass producers grew up with dubstep in their headphones, so to see the resurgence in large-scale popularity has been so exciting to watch from the sidelines. Today, we are taking a closer look at one of the original heavyweights of the sound as the unmistakable sonic mastery of Sukh Knight, who arrives just in-time for the reopening of the dances with a gnarly 2-track experience.

He links up here with Kromestar’s Nebula Music Group, which had a pretty explosive catalogue behind it, to unveil the 2021 Sukh Knight sound. Now for dubstep fans around the globe is sure to be an exciting prospect, having watched his style alternate between different areas of 140 (primarily dubstep and grime) over the past decade. Therefore, following on from a couple of high profile live appearances for the man himself, these two corkers are seemingly exactly what the doctor ordered.

This is an impactful two-tracker, right from the off, we are gifted with explosive creation which takes the title ‘Hawk’, seeing a slightly more dungeon-influenced sound from Sukh Knight, focussing his basslines around a grizzly LFO design a-stop scattered drum squeezes and breathy percussion. The flip sees an upturn in pace as ‘Poison’ sees Sukh return to a selection off bass sounds we may more freely associate with his production, but this time sitting on top of scattered, carnival inspired snare arrangements and subtle breaksy samples woven in-between. This is a new direction for the 140 veteran and it’s one we are very interested to see develop!
