Over the years we have seen a number of different projects appear within the bass music spectrum, each of them introducing a new idea or theme to the constantly evolving landscape of the scene. Down in Brighton, the most prominent one of these projects to emerge is of course Southpoint, a now well respected imprint that has gone on to innovate in numerous different areas of bass music,  whilst also maintaining a genre spectrum spanning from everything between dubstep and breaks to garage and tech house. It’s always excited to see what they have around the corner, with this next compilation drop being a pretty solid summary of where the label is currently at.

Since back in 2015, Southpoint have released regular editions of their now coveted ‘Southpoint Presents’ series, one of the the most notable compilation projects within the bass world, often spanning numerous different genres and always including a solid selection of the expansive STPT roster. With this being the 9th edition of the series, they have gone about things a little bit different with the line up and also the campaign behind the project. We have already heard a pair of top quality releases surrounding the project from both Cortese & Kiddah, with the full compilation landing today and presenting us with a hoard of sonic goodies.

The full lineup features a combination of veteran Southpoint names and exciting newcomers, with Daze Prism, TVU, Drax, Earthnut, Hamdi, Jakebob & KXVU all making explosive returns to the project. For the newer names, it’s awesome to see the likes of Demure, DV-US, Vital Techniques, Kiddah & Em-Roe all making another vibrant apperance on the label, alongside a shining debut for Scottish newcomer Clarcq, who we know for a fact has an exciting string of releases on the way with the label, all exploring his futuristic take on the UKG sound. The full project boasts a serious feeling of sonic depth, and despite being a slightly shorter project, boasts possibly it’s strongest collection to date.

The full project is now available to take in, which you can check out via our good friends over at JunoDownload using the link below:
