It’s always exciting to wake up on a Friday and head straight to the release shelves as we explore the latest UK bass music to land, with the shelves now absolutely bristling with explosive new material. Today we are jumping back into the CruCast camp, who have undoubtedly been leading the way across the UK this year within the bass and bassline sounds, pumping out nearly a release a week across the first half of the year and giving us so much dance floor ammunition to enjoy. For this latest outing, we see a spicy link up between some very exciting creators, with this brand new single entitled ‘Redlight’.
The cast behind this dance floor monster features firstly Livsey, a long standing member of the bass community who has continue to hone his sound in a number of different ways, constantly delivering rave-ready heaters when he turns his attention to the studio, with his calendar being jam-packed with a number of different creative endeavours. He is joined by the enigmatic vocals of the one and only Nika D, founding member of the legendary Virus Syndicate collective, who arrives with a serious amount of gusto to spin this one into life. It’s another unexpected link up, with the CruCast team really keeping us on our toes this year.
The track itself is definitely a ruckus-inducer, as we are immediately greeted by a bag of atmospheric pressures, urgent string slides and highly intense build ups, over which we can hear Nika’s vocal chants and patterns really add the energy to the occasion. From here, Livsey is let loose across the breakdown’s bassline, deploying metallic, stomping synthesizer sweeps and a seriously crunchy set of drum arrangements, that really do send this one into the stratosphere for the listener.
It’s a spicy one to say the least and it’s going to cause some serious damage across many a festival stage! This one also comes complete with a slightly stripped back dub mix from Livsey, for the DJ’s looking to mash this one together with other vocal originals in their setlisting.
