The run that we have been witnessing from CruCast has been pretty outstanding to say the least, as we continue to explore the serious level of heat their catalogue has been pushing forward across the last few weeks. Since their inception as a label entity, the CruCast team have come on leaps and bounds, providing a platform for both the already established heavyweights of the bass scene, whilst also giving a number of up and coming producers their opportunity to shine with full length EP drops landing on a pretty regular basis.
Alongside this, the label has also been experimenting within the realms of jungle & D&B, giving the catalogue a much more widened sense of depth, especially across the last couple of months, whilst also pursuing a high intensity run of 4×4 originals. This is all happening just in time for the summer season as the oncoming wave of festivals and sun-driven live events begin to materialize, giving the label and the artists involved an extra box of serious ammunition to enjoy, including this latest drop. It’s been a hot minute since we last saw Darkzy making his way to the front of the roster to drop new music, but it’s safe to say he’s knocked the ball out of the park with this spicy new creation.
Taking the title ‘Never’, this new one allows us to see a slightly more experimental approach from the Nottingham-native, firstly combining a dizzying collection of acidic synthesizer runs with booming drum punches and stuttered rhythms to send the dance into an absolute tizz. These are then topped off with a euphoric display of vocal enchantment from Aleya Mae, whose rave-ready performance gives this whole track an extra dash of oomph as it progresses across it’s introduction and bridge sections. This is an original we are expecting to hear dominate the dances over the coming months.
