Despite the fact that the weather here in the UK has well and truly turned towards the long-awaited winter, the vibrancy of UK garage, a sound primarily associated with summertime, shows no signs of slowing down. In fact, having had a look around all of the release schedules of the primary garage labels, it looks as though the amount of new UKG we are going to be taking in is mereley going to go up as the months pass by. This is something we are truly excited for at the future sounds of 2-step and garage continue to heat up our winter mornings.
For today’s helping, we are going to be taking a look at an artist who has been on bit of a roll over the last few months, releasing a number of top quality creations that seem to always hit the perfect golden point between nostalgic and new school. We are of course talking about Birmingham’s: own BLK JCK, a newer garage producer who has been on a searing run, releasing numerous highly impactful drops of both Garage Shared and Four40, alternating between the two heavyweight factions with some fantastic sonic results and rapidly establishing himself as one of the names to keep an eye on.
Today, we are taking a look at his latest drop which has landed via the fantastic Jam Tasty imprint, a label that over the years have had an impressive sense of taste and flavour, always delivering colourful, vibrant dance music releases that don’t tend to rely on niche-genre support and in fact appeal to a much wider audience. This seems to have rubbed off on BLK JCK as ‘Girls’ sees him explore a truly euphoric sense of production, with incredibly uplifting chords, lively vocal chops and an intense 4×4 rhythm giving this one a high dosage of original garage energy and again, making it perfect for the raving crew to enjoy.
