Over the last couple of years we have seen such a powerful influx of new producers and label projects emerge across the UK bass scene, to the point where the international community surrounding the sound is now stronger than ever before. This has of course given rise to a massive interest in UK artists from international imprints that represent the sound on a global scale, with AC Slater’s Night Bass imprint being one of the principal importers to the US with a high volume of UK acts getting in on the party. Today we are taking a look at a brand new single from one of the UK’s most exciting prospects, as Badger delivers the goods ones again.
Spreading his work across both Brighton and Bristol, Badger’s rise has been super exciting, dropping absolute heaters on a number of different established UK outlets and constantly pushing both garage and bass music forward through a combination of abstract synthesis and explosive rhythmic design. This run of releases has lead to his popularity as a performer sky-rocketing, with a recent Boomtown performance standing out as a real landmark moment. His latest outing sees him return to the Night Bass imprint, where has released a few times before, this time unleashing a powerful new single by the name ‘Dancefloor Hot’.
This one takes a smooth fusion of moody bassline design and sweeping subs across a stacked up drum set, culminating in a very unique breakdown, again stacked with a bag of those Badger-unique synth sweeps. These elements are then glued together by a vibrant vocal display with pitched down effects running wild. This is definitely a single we can see causing a real ruckus in dances up and down the country along with a real sense of international appeal, making it another succesful addition to Badger’s rapidly expanding catalogue of heaters.
