Within the now extensive circles of underground dance music in the UK, there are few that can really hold a candle to the efforts of the legendary DJ Zinc over the years. Across his vast empire of a catalogue, we have been treated to such a broad range of styles it’s often actually quite difficult to comprehend.
This of course begins with his introduction to the Jungle scene with his 1995 smash ‘Super Sharp Shooter’. From here he conquered the extended realms of drum & bass before moving into a more 4×4 tempo, putting together bangers such as ‘138 Trek’ and ‘Wile Out’ alongside Ms Dynamite during his “Crack House” production phase.
These days we are pleased to see him pushing forward alongside his Bingo Bass imprint, supplying the scene both in highly energetic live performances and also by introducing a bag of exciting new original talent into a crowded Bassline scene.
Some of the artists to feature on the illustrious label in recent times include: Holy Goof, Tengu, Jack Beats, Chris Lorenzo, Tony Wonka and more.
So with such a strong back catalogue of releases, it’s no wonder that Zinc has decided to put forward his long awaited VIP mix of Amergency via his home imprint, placing it at the top of the pile amongst of a foundation of straight fire.
The track itself is exactly what we would want from a VIP of such a hard hitting original. Zinc gets to work twisting up the melodies and upping the pace of the original recording, between a some spicy synthetic layering and ever more punchy drum production. This one is destined to devastate as many dances as it touches and this is a premiere we are truly excited to be hosting on The 3000 Network.
