Womxn In Bass with Ellie Sabine – Rachel Green

Posted 20/3/19 in

With more than 10 years in the game, Amsterdam’s Rachel Green is known for her unusual selections and onpoint mixing. Rachel grew up on Hip Hop, Dubstep and Funk, and her constantly evolving inspiration can be heard when she’s playing at radio stations, stages and clubs around the world. If you love all sorts of leftfield electronic music, this #WomxnInBass is for you!

Something the UK Bass music scene could learn from Amsterdam…

Blending genre’s – develope your own vibe

If I could choose anyone in the world to host my set it would be…

Miss Red, 100%

When I wake up I…

Turn over for just a couple of minutes more

Track I’m currently rinsing is…

I had to google rinsing for a sec because i didn’t know if you meant ‘play a lot’ or not.. Urban Dictionairy gave me: “A posh upper class form of a gold digging. When a man showers a woman with expensive gifts and money for strictly no sexual flavors in return.” I’m very sure that is not what you want from me.. so i’ll go with Sam Binga – Pound for Pound (Serum Remix).

Quick plug…

I follow a lot of blogs but I really like to get lost in Bandcamp or SC.. It’s never quick

Phrase I seriously over use…

Niets aan de hand.. for the Dutchies

I love what I do because…

It gives me so much creative freedom.

It wouldn’t have happened without…

My friends really supported me from day one.

Biggest struggle in this business is…

Staying true to yourself and try not to overwork

I aspire to be a woman like…

God.. she’s female FYI. My mom of course, she’s really cool.

In the rave you will probably catch me…

Eating a pizza, i will get food in to a rave. (for after the moshpit)

I love creating…

Anything, not just music situations. I really like working with wood or just simple interior things.

My proudest career moment so far was…

I still have a weak spot for my show at Fusion Festival in 2016, everything just came together. Early morning set in an old bunker with wicked visuals <3

The last Instagram account I followed was…

@Openlygayanimals (you may always send me meme’s)

Most memorable thing that’s ever happened at a set…

I closed down a festival last year for a couple thousand people and it started raining really hard, everybody handed out those see through rain covers and nobody went home. For me it looked like i played a set for like 3000 dancing condoms, it was amazing.

My favourite producer is…

The Bug

In a dream world…

I would be a really good surfer.
