It’s safe to say that dubstep is sitting in somewhat of a high point as we look towards to end of 2019. The genre has most definitely re-established itself within bass music culture and to see the quality of original creations that has been flowing out of both the established label projects and newly launched imprints has been nothing short of an absolute pleasure.
Labels such as New World Audio have been constantly pushing out top quality original creations, and this latest offering from them is a perfect example of that, as they move back towards a more sub-driven style of composition, more aligned with the roots of the genre, more-so at least than the heavier, tearout style of 140 production that dominated the genre during it’s arguably highest points of popularity.
One artist that has remained at the forefront of dubstep over the last few years is the ever-ready Mr. K, a dubstep trooper who joins the NWA team coming off the back of incredibly well received full releases on Wheel & Deal, White Peach and Navy Cut, giving him quite an impressive resume to begin with.
This release however sees him dive deeper and darker than ever before as ’99 Dub’ and ‘Run’ land as a super prominent two track tasting session, both packing some serious steppers heat. We have had the great honour of getting involved with this one as New World Audio invite us to bring you an official premiere of ‘Run’.
This one is an exceptional piece of original dubstep production, incorporating a tonne of different era influences, all mash together with pride and finesse, culminating in an absolute missile for the dance. This is one for the system, as subby structures drive it forward from start to finish, oozing with class.
