We premiere the latest offering from Cartel Collective as Disco DIKC arrives on remix duty

At threethousand.co.uk we love nothing more than to see newer labels thriving and finding their feet within a now super crowded bass industry. The latest label we felt the need to home in on is Cartel Collective, a project showcasing some of the best, undiscovered bass music artists with a fantastic looking catalogue. We love the fact that they just seem to keep it so consistent with every release, a trait that is easy to overlook.

Cartel Collective have remained heavily active over the last 8 months, with some top notch findings spread throughout, headed up by 3000 Blog regular Antdadope. We are here today to take a look at their latest offering with an official 3000 Blog premiere.

As part of a new EP drop from Dr Paul & Ole, we are here to take a specific look at one of the remixes we can find lurking around on the project, as Kansas based Disco DIKC gets involved, putting his uniquely bouncy production style to work as he rethinks the sounds of ‘Tricky’. Giving the original version a more bouncy, house heavy re-lick, this one brings together a collection of colourful, percussive drum punches in harmony with moderately minimal melodic structure to pack a serious punch for the dance.

What we love most about this remix is the fact you can’t help but move to it, be it a steady knee-tap beneath your work desk, or a case of absolute limbs in the dance.
