It’s a very exciting time for dance music in general in the UK. We are seeing incredible resurgences across genres such as funky and garage and a number of producers seriously levelling up in the process. One genre we are keen to see retain it’s importance to the UK Dance music scene is breaks, an often forgotten element in creating a seriously spicy composition.
One label that has constantly pushed and supported different genres within UK dance music is none other than Nottingham’s own Tumble Audio, one of the first to really make their mark amidst the re-emergence of bassline and funky. Over the years they have played home to a number of the UK’s most popular producers, including Killjoy, Majora, Bassboy and more, as well as international legends such as DJ Madd and Doctor Jeep.
They are back at it again here however as we draw closer to the release of Roadman Anthems, The Resurrection, their premiere compilation series that sees the world hold it’s collective breath in anticipation for the latest 4×4 throwdown.
We have already seen them preview a feature from UK funky maestros Ali McK and IYZ alongside Rame, which has hit the internet with a wicked reaction. Next up it seems they are going down a more experimental route as long standing Tumble powerhouse Sergic returns with an exclusive premiere via SeekSickSound. The track itself goes by the name of ‘The Prince’ and is a fantastic look into the importance of breaks within UK dance music, seeing the track blessed with incredibly rhythmic energies and explosive, moogish bass leads, that are sure to send any dance into an absolute frenzy.
We are keenly awaiting the release of the compilation, which is set to hit stores on the the 9th of July, assuring they really are the sound of the summer.
