At threethousand.co.uk, it’s safe to say that we are primarily known for our explorations into bass music, alongside looking at UKG, funky, grime, dubstep and more. Today however, we are very excited to be steering more into the other direction as we take a look at a real tech house juggernaut, and the project they have served up. We believe really and truly that the next decade shall be the most explorative and forward thinking year for dance music, especially in the UK, so we are keen to keep our fingers on the pulse of all scenes where we can!
A label that has always stood out to us is Toolroom, a true goliath within the tech house scene, known for a combination of both their incredibly consistency and flawless diversity of sound. Over the years we have seen them discover and bring up some of the word’s most exciting house DJs and producers, whilst also holding one of the most celebrated Spotify playlists for the dance music in the country, putting themselves into a real tastemaker position through constant updates and clinical A&R strategies.
The weekend just gone saw them launch this year’s edition of their famed ‘This Is Toolroom’ compilation project, a selection of tracks showcasing the very best of their sound and roster, stuffed full of tasty 4×4 goodies from start to finish. We see the head of the label, Mark Knight kick off the compilation with a bang, followed by a number of the high ranking officers, including Friend Within, Siege, Ben Remember, Slaash & Doppe, Tuff London, Siwell and more.
The overall project just oozes quality, with consistency being the order of the day in typical Toolroom style. This is one for both the DJs and the casual listeners, with twenty full originals available to grab via the SoundCloud link below:
