Being a blog at the very forefront of UK Bass music, we thought it’s only right that we bring you a monthly roundup of what we have in heavy rotation over here at 3000 HQ and the tracks we feel are worthy of an extra mention. Presenting ‘The 3000 Selection’ our guide to the hottest tracks we think you should be paying attention to, all brought to you on a monthly basis courtesy of our very own bass connoisseur Pundit.
Sammy Virji – Shapes (Oh Will)
Starting off this month’s compilation we have Sammy Virgi’s latest offering, out on Conducta’s new record imprint, Kiwi Rekords. Released just in time for the exceptionally sunny Easter weekend, this bouncy UKG number will be receiving a lot of playtime this summer…
Shift K3y – To The Floor
A powerful beat starts the track, with melodic keys laying down a calming atmosphere before the hypnotic vocals come in to prepare you for the drop. Brutal synths lead the attack, backed up by a skippy 4×4 beat and grooving bassline. One of our favourite Shift K3y tracks yet!
Marten Hørger & SkiiTour – Redlight (Odd Mob remix)
We’ve been rinsing the original ever since it came out, so coming up with a worthy alternative version is no easy challenge. However, Odd Mobb has absolutely smashed this out of the water. The first drop hits hard and fast, ducking into a melodic breakdown before unveiling the true monster of the track; the second drop. Deliciously dark, it would be a sin to mix this remix out beforehand.
NuBass & Hot Goods – Dead Prez
Another Night Bass release, this time from NuBass’s latest EP. Dead Prez is the dirty collaboration of none other than NuBass and Hot Goods themselves. Ominous pads lead the charge up to a dark and energetic drop, lead by beautifully resonant synths and punctuated with anti-presidential undertones. The duo should be proud of this one for sure!
Zero – Broken
Zero’s latest offering is a masterclass in sound design. Trippy chopped vocals lead us up to a monstrous drop that hits like a bull. This track is the first teaser of Mariki Records’ next Spaces EP, and if it’s anything to go by, then we are definitely in for a treat when it comes out!
