It’s an extremely exciting time for the Tengu boys at the minute, as the bass scene applauds the Worthing based duo’s consistency across the recent months. It’s been awesome to see the pair progress further and further as they have started to gain the attention we feel they have deserved for a very long time.
The pair haven’t just been busy in the studio either, as we have seen Chris (1/2 of the team) link up with the guys at YosH to get fully involved with label proceedings, taking up the mantle of both an A&R and release manager. Since being involved, Chris has brought a tonne of exciting new acts into the label catalogue and looked to propel the team forward with both speed and precision.
We are today however to take a look at the duo’s latest musical contribution to the label, as they continue to hone their unique style within what is becoming an ever more crowded bass scene. Enter: ‘Valhalla’, a fantastic new single which feel really does show just how far the duo have come in such a short space of time. We are thrown into the blender come the breakdown on this one with an array of lethal bass synthesizers, crippling sub tones and gutpunching drum designs, destined to cause a ruckus in many a dance nationwide.
This is all before we talk about Duke Sky’s fantastic vocal input. As an artist, it’s clear that Duke’s talents are numbered high, working regularly as a radio presenter on Brighton’s Trickstar Radio, along with some very high end voiceover work and a tonne of banging verses across both grime and bass originals in the bank already. This latest piece may just be the one to top the pile however, as he unleashes line upon line of cryptic lyricism, exploring Norse terminology with with quick fire flow patterns and a highly energetic performance.
This is most certainly not one to miss!
