2019 was a very exciting year for the Brighton / Worthing based Tengu, a producer whose sound has been present for a substantial period of tome within the UK Bass scene. As an entity he has become known as somewhat of a tastemaker, constantly bringing new and exciting artists through to the forefront of bass music whilst also putting some incredibly hard hitting compositions of his own.
Within the bass scene there over the last 12-18 months there has been a most definite shift towards a more tech influenced sound, be it within more minimalist drum structures or through less noisy bass design, we have seen it loud and clear that the scene is in the middle of a forward thinking evolution. There are various labels and sounds pushing this forward and today, we are taking a look at an artist who has embraced the more stripped back style with ease.
It’s an extremely exciting time for the Tengu boys at the minute, as the bass scene applauds the Worthing based duo’s consistency across the recent months. It’s been awesome to see the pair progress further and further as they have started to gain the attention we feel they have deserved for a very long time.
It’s been a very impressive start to the year for the super experiences team behind YosH as FooR continue to explore the realms of releasing new bass music. After employing the energetic and super resoruceful Chris Merison (1/2 Tengu), they have taken in a surge of brand new releases, showcasing just how versatile bass music can be, including releases from KXVU, Kirbs and more.
It’s been a great start to their reign for FooR’s brand new YosH imprint, who have hit the ground running with a selection of very refreshing releases  from a range of diverse artists, encompassing a wide range of bass music styles and designs.
