Within the bass scene there over the last 12-18 months there has been a most definite shift towards a more tech influenced sound, be it within more minimalist drum structures or through less noisy bass design, we have seen it loud and clear that the scene is in the middle of a forward thinking evolution. There are various labels and sounds pushing this forward and today, we are taking a look at an artist who has embraced the more stripped back style with ease.
We have been following the run of form Albzzy has been in with some seriously keen ears of late as he continues his run of top quality singles. Over the last 12 months or so we have heard his sound shift softly and smoothly away from the more raucous tearout themes of full blown bassline, with an eye for the more Americanised, minimal take on bass music, being openly inspired by Night Bass and other similar labels.
It’s been a little while since we last heard from our boy Albzzy, a producer who seems to constantly grow and evolve with the times, commanding a very strong social media presence and having the tracks to back it every step of the way. In the last year we have seen him leap across the pond on tour, but now he is back doing what he does best, and that is creating bangers for us all to enjoy.
As a label, Night Bass really have been setting the pace in the bass scene for quite some time now, headed up by the insatiable appetite of AC Slater, who continues to supply the US, UK and beyond with a stream of excellent, forward thinking bass music. Amongst their roster we see regular apperances from the likes of Chris Lorenzo, Taiki Nulight, Jay Robinson, AC Slater himself and many more high profile names, all forging a unique sound for the LA based imprint.
