Strictly Flava launch into 2020 in style with their 3rd ‘Allstars’ EP

Posted 16/1/20 in

It’s no secret that we are massive fans of Strictly Flava, if you were keeping up with our output last year, that shouldn’t be much of a secret to you. With 2019’s nationwide push of garage themes and vibes across the entire breadth of dance music, we honestly feel that labels such as Strictly Flava have played an absolutely essential part in the genre’s reemergence. Last year saw an impeccable string of releases, with next to no space in between them, keeping the UKG scene as refreshed as ever.

Today we are very happy to take a peek at how they are starting their 2020 campaign as they bring back somewhat of a label flagship, unveiling the third edition of their ‘Strictly Flava Allstars’ series. Over the last 18 months, this is a compilation project that has brought serious props to the SF brand, seeing them catapult themselves to the forefront of the scene whilst also remaining entirely open on who they release with.

If it bangs, they are interested, which as attitude we are always excited to explore here at threethousand.co.uk. The roster for this one most certainly packs a punch, as we firstly welcome the ever-ready: Earthnut, who hit the ground running with the stunning sounds of ‘Play’, a perfect example of just how creative they can get with a drum kit and a catchy vocal ping. Next, D Selektah is joined by Chiverton on some nostalgic flavours in ‘Outrageous’ before Sam Deeley joins catchy brass riffs and subtle chord movements on the incredibly groovy ‘Rinse Sound’.

To round up, we firstly take a dive into Solution’s ‘Spiritual Journey’, a super smooth array of vibrant organ slaps and crunchy drum implosions, before signing the project out on Zero FG & Jay Barrett’s ‘Underdogs’. This one is the perfect final play, combining Zero FG’s smooth production abilities with the catchy vocal plays of Jay Barrett, putting a dash of finesse onto the end of what is already a top notch body of work.
