First of all, we want to wish each and every one of you a fantastic return from the Christmas break here at The 3000 Network. The winter period is traditionally a quieter time for the music industry, especially within dance music as producer bed their heads down for the month to focus on revitalisation for the new year. However, there is one thing we can be sure of and that is a colourful abundance of Christmas-based compilations in and around the UK bass and garage scenes. Every year we are blesse with a bag of these top quality drops, with today’s addition to the pile coming forward from our friends over at Steppers Club.

Over the course of 2021, there were few labels in our eyes that showed as much improvement alongside brand-awareness as the Steppers Club team, who continiously impressed with their vibrant array of exciting garage drops, alongside a run of lively events and exciting additional content. This time around we are taking a look at their Christmas collection, taking the title ‘Steppers Dubs’. which moves into it’s second edition. The project features four colourful original creations, showcasing some of the brightest sparks currently on board with the Steppers Club roster.

First up, Zefer lands for an explosive original by the name of ‘Lost My Mind’, focussing on a solid fusion of shrill vocal samples and groovy, intertwining piano riffs, giving the whole track an extremely groovy feel right from the off and setting the project off with some real style. Next, a tasty layering of Flowdan’s wicked vocal structures as Sensa delivers ‘Shella Verse Dub’, a system sizzling driver, focussing on low-ended melodic structures and well-pocketed grooves. From here, Minista unleashes a finesse-dripping design on ‘Closer Than Close’, manipulating lofi vocal samples and glittering arpeggios for a tidy creation, before Sam Deeley rounds of proceedings with the old school flavours and catchy rap slices of ’93 TILL’.

This was a fabulous way for the Steppers Dubs crew to round off the year, which you can check out via the SoundCloud link below:
