Over the Christmas period, it’s safe to say that the internet is a wash with compilations, both celebrating the holidays and providing a yearly round up of different label’s progress over the last twelve months. One label that continues to push the best out of their artists for their Christmas eve giveaway is Southpoint, who have yet again put together a colossal collection of heaters as they bring out the sixth edition of their ‘Southpoint Presents’ series.

For the last few years, this has been a point of focus for the Brighton based label, who have vocally expressed their love for the compilation, claiming it to be the best way they can showcase their favourite artists to be involved with the label’s primary release catalogue. Having been named as one of UKF’s “Top 18 label’s of the year”, this track selection holds even more weight that usual.

Of course when putting together a compilation like this, they have to bring out a team of their long standing star strikers, including the likes of Bushbaby, Muttley, Inkline, KXVU, Mofaux, Eclypse, Albzzy, Tengu etc, alongside some newer faces who follow up from top draw solo releases earlier in the year. Freddie Martin for instance touches down with his ‘Lose Control VIP’, after his fantastically well received ‘Feel EP’, along with 9TRANE, Daze Prism and Hamdi all making classy release returns. We also see some very cool STPT driven collaborations involved, including long standing collective stalwart Drax’s team up Noble, next to Moony & Movement’s third link up of the year.

We also see a host of new faces join the party, as Foundry, iamphantvm, Usual Suspect, s3 Dubs and Negativ make their ‘Presents’ debuts, followed by a pair of very highly anticipated vocal collaborations to add the finishing touches to a classy tracklisting. For these, regular favourite: Jakebob teams up with Southpoint Show resident Duke Sky, along with Dubzta’s punchy team up with fellow Brightonian: Writz.

Overall, it may well be the strongest compilation the Southpoint team has ever put together, showcasing a serious blend of genres and styles, forming into the perfect early Christmas giveaway.
