Over here at 3000 HQ, we have been keeping a very close eye on the goings on over at Southpoint in recent time’s. Following the announcement of a new run of exciting, refreshing single drops and of course Bushbaby’s long awaited album, it’s an exciting time for everyone involved in the Brightonian imprint. Over the years they have clearly taken a lot of pride in showcasing new talent from across the south coast, with that becoming more and more apparent as their roster continues to expand and grow.

It’s safe to say that garage is one of the sounds the label is keen on pushing, with a recent influx of new production talents joining the label to deliver a run of smashing new singles, perfect for the returning energy we are seeing on dance floors up and down the country. This next drop is therefore a single that fits right into the STPT mantra, as the team bring together the combined flavours of Movement, one of their longest serving UKG heavyweights, and the fabulous vocal presence of Rio, who after a killer debut single on the label with Badger a few months back, looks set to push some serious waves across the scene.

The single itself is everything we could hope for from these two, as Movement firstly provides a smooth, well thought out garage backdrop, doused in typically well designed bass pulses and scattered drum inputs, giving us an immediate sense of nostalgic rhythmic energy, This top quality arrangement is then met by Rio, who again impresses with a thumping vocal display, combining relatable lyricism with catchy melodic grooves with relative ease. This is a combo that most certainly works and we can see this quite easily becoming a regular link up if the quality level remains as high as this moving forward!
