Over the many of years of our work here at The 3000 Network, we have made a real effort to try following and reporting on as many of the established bass music platforms as possible, in order to keep you all as up to date with the scene’s goings on as possible. Now, this process may sound simple enough, but keeping up with today’s featured label has become a task in it’s own right, due to the incredibly high volume of top quality releases we are seeing emerging from their camp on a now weekly basis.
We are of course talking about Four40 Records, one of the original bass labels to established themselves prior to the 2015 bassline boom, who find themselves going stronger than ever over ten years on from their inception. The run of releases we have seen from the imprint has been nothing short of outstanding, covering so many genres and sounds with a combination of veteran troopers and vibrant newcomers on their ever expanding roster. Today we are taking a look at their latest release from MKII, who falls into the more experimental category, regularly blessing us with his dystopian UKG soundscapes and crispy percussive designs.
The EP itself features three incredible creations, which as we said above, sound super experimental yet remain incredibly applicable in any DJ scenario. We couldn’t resist getting involved and lending a hand with this one as unveil an official premiere of ‘Kontakt’ below, our favourite of three featuring on the EP. The track itself begins with a selection of classic-sonding euphoric chords, drifting into a a typically lively selection of unique sounding drum patterns, adding an extra dash of energy to the arrangement and giving us a serious banger.
We are super excited to be premiering this one, the link to which we have attached for you to enjoy below:
