It’s 2020 and we are up and rolling again, looking forward to another year of exciting advancements within the ever expanding bass music bracket. Over the course of 2020 we are expecting to see a flurry of releases and album projects on the way from the scenes heavyweights, with Skepsis and Zero being two names rumouring to have a very released heavy year.
We are also however looking forward to seeing a host of new names usher forth with bright and colourful new original bass music. There is always room for new names to emerge, which is why we are today focussing on the sounds of Hoyd, a Moscow based producer who has kicked off 2020 with a serious point to prove. He here links up with the team at Zero Cool, headed up by Moti, for a very tidy original creation entitled ‘Skank In The Rave’.
Across a spacey scattered introduction we can immediately the intensity building as we hear a combination of pitched down vocal samples smash together over eerie atmospherics, leading towards an incredibly original breakdown. Through a combination of automated frequency filters and super metallic bass instrumentation, we hit the drop with a real slap as Hoyd provides us with a constantly expanding array of bass sounds, making sure this one stays interesting from start to finish.
A lot of producers within the bass scene tend to get caught in the trap of formatting their tunes for the rave and nowhere else, focussing almost entirely on a first drop for the entirety of the track. We are very happy to see that Hoyd does quite the opposite on this one as he delivers a stunning piece of unique bass music. We have attached the track below for you to check out via the Zero Cool label page!
