As a year, we feel 2020 was great for dance music in so many aspects. For one, it was a year of fusion, of coming together as we saw producers from the full spectrum of dance music both join forces with each other and set sail to explore before undiscovered landscapes of sound. The hybridization of 140BPM based music and the splitting of UK bass between niche and tech forming two perfect examples of our point.
Today, we are here to continue our exploration into a new decade of sound as we welcome back House Of Hustle, a label we were paying close attention to in 2019, particularly towards he tail end of the year. As they continued to drop release after release we found ourselves becoming more and more impressed with both their consistency as a label and their variation, constantly exploring new areas of house music wherever they could find them.
Their 2020 is set to kick off with some serious style this weekend, as they unveil their first full EP to hit the shelves, welcoming none other than Dutch producer: Mike McFly. His high energy take on 4×4 dance music has seen his catalogue find support from the likes of Goliaths such as Toolroom and Dirtybird, and we can most certainly see why after listening to this EP.
He provides a pair of bubbling originals for the House Of Hustle banner here, kicking off with the steadily rising ‘Wrap Party’, a techy composition doused in moogy leads and shuffled drum beats, split up by uplifting bridges and a spacey atmosphere to glue it all together. As well as this, are given a secondary treat in ‘Trigger Happy’, an electrifying original, dripping with potent sub pressure and shimmering drum exploration. It’s a tidy two tracker to say the least, and it becomes available for all this Friday!
We have attached the Data Transmission premiere of the title track ‘Wrap Party’ below:
