GS Dubs celebrate their birthday with a wavy new remix selection

Well doesn’t time absolutely fly. It has been absolutely exceptional first year for the GS Dubs imprint, a sub-faction of the almighty Garage Shared unit, who have arguably given us the most consistent year of any garage-centric label across the full breadth of 2020. Their consistency is something we are very excited to celebrate with them as they bring forward this fabulous four-track remix selection entitled ‘GS Dubs Remixed Vol. 1‘, which sees some of the hottest names in UKG right about now get to work across an array of top quality garage originals.

As we dive into the track listing for this one we are immediately greeted in high spirits with some fabulous flavours as we take an initial look at Tuff Culture‘s contribution, reworking Soulecta‘s ‘All I Want‘ into a subtle, warbling warhead, tied together with nostalgic vocal chop-ups and crunchy drum expressions. Next, Oppidan gets to work with her fabulous rethink of Matt Jam Lamont and Echelon‘s ‘Comeback‘, which delivers another smooth injection of original sounding garage design, again edging her towards being one of the most consistent garage artists in the UK for 2020.

From here, Prozak then delivers a spicy recreation of ‘Need 2 Believe‘, originally released by K 1 R 3 Y, giving it a super groovy & twisted design, laced with sumptuous horn samples for some of that old school edge. Finally, George IV lands with his recreation of ‘Runaway‘, originally by Rico Tubbs. He really takes us back to the roots with a sizzling, chord-driven recreation, stacking the composition with glittering melodic manoeuvres and hard hitting drum punches for good measure.

What a fabulous way for the GS crew to enjoy their birthday celebrations this really is. We have attached the full SoundCloud playlist below for you all to enjoy:
