As the 3000 Bass Takeover at fabric fast approaches, we prepare for an onslaught of bass and feel honoured to be one of three brands flying the flag for a bass driven sound in their respected genre of music, alongside Nero Presents and Eatbrain and we couldn’t be more humbled by the experience.
In the run up to the event, a volley of superb guest mixes by various artists performing on the night have recently been posted by fabric [and one hosted by us] as a teaser of what to expect on the night, all accompanied with some high calibre write ups from the club themselves:
Marcus Nasty & Mic Man Frost head on a UK funky tip
Anyone paying any attention to bass music culture in London should already be more than aware of Marcus Nasty’s weekly Rinse FM residency. Dedicated to pulling together and presenting the most innovative and on point underground sounds, he’s going to be mirroring his curatorial touch for 3000 Bass this coming Friday night. As per Nasty is going to be matching a slew of MCs and DJs for some choice back to backs for The #MarcusNastyShow mini showcase for 3000 Bass – so here he’s put together a 30 minute selection to show what happens when he joins forces with Mic Man Frost.
The result is a sharp dose of UK funky from one of the best selectors in the capital to begin the warm-up for tomorrow’s 3000 Bass take over in Room Three.
DJ Redhot shows his love for UK Garage
This Friday we’re celebrating all forms of bass music across our entire space, with UK party starters 3000 Bass helming Room Three. They’ve lined up a typically heavy bill for the night, with funky expert Marcus Nasty inviting Scar Duggy, Mic Man Frost, DJ Redhot and MC Shantie to join him for #TheMarcusNastyShow.
We’re particularly excited to welcome DJ Redhot, the UK Garage selector and radio regular. Now a frequent guest on London institution Rinse FM, the young talent first cut his teeth on pirate radio, drawing attention from an early age for his quick-fire mixing skills. Ahead of the weekend he sent us a mix that showcases this across several strains of homegrown garage and two-step.
Hot Goods – 3000 Bass Takeover At fabric Promo Mix
To celebrate our fabric takeover on the 28th September, we were thrilled to get HotGoodsuk involved with an official Fabriclive promotional mix. Filled to the brim with weighty bass exclusives and pounding original selections.
Hot Goods gets to work blending some of the tastiest tunes out there right now, giving us an exciting preview into what we have to look forward to at the end of the month.
Introducing rising dubstep talent, Cimm
Cimm is a producer and DJ based in North-West London. While his music has been informed by many influences, his hallmark sound mostly covers bass-heavy dubstep and its related offshoots. It’s a style most commonly associated with labels like Tempa, where Cimm was signed for his debut release alongside scene leader Youngsta.
Other members of this tight-knit circle include the likes of Sukh Knight and Squarewave, and when Cimm makes his EC1 debut at FABRICLIVE next weekend, both artists will be joining him in Room One. Cimm recorded an exclusive mix for us in anticipation for the date, showcasing the sound and style that have become the benchmark of his production and DJ sets.
Teddy Killerz FABRICLIVE x Eatbrain Promo Mix
It’s not easy to find much information on Teddy Killerz without some background knowledge. The Russian drum & bass trio famously found success on labels like RAM and Eatbrain, but also choose to hide behind anonymity online, instead using an animation of three menacing teddy bears as a guise across all of their online profiles.
While this could be seen as a rogue move to some, in many ways it fits their music. The trio’s style of drum & bass is bold and hectic, the kind of thing that sits perfectly with the Eatbrain camp. Ahead of their appearance at Eatbrain’s Room Two showcase on 28th September, they showed us this with a relentless tear out promo mix.
Squarewave represents the sound of New World Audio
FABRICLIVE is back this Friday, with Nero Presents taking over Room One for the entire night. Set to join the acclaimed dubstep trio is Squarewave, the London-based bass expert and New World Audio co-founder. As a warm-up treat for the weekend he sent us an exclusive mix, accompanied by the following introduction:
“This mix will hopefully give you a flavour of the sets I been playing recently, and a taste of what to expect this Friday. There are a couple of new dubstep tracks from me and forthcoming bits on my label New World Audio, plus a few tracks that got tested at Outlook Festival and got the wheel up every single time! I like to switch up the dubstep with some new vocal grime joints too, and the mix tails off with a halftime and experimental hip-hop section. I’m really looking forward to playing on this line-up, there should be something for everyone across the three rooms!”
The line up on the night is as follows:
Room Three: 3000 Bass
The #MarcusNastyShow (feat. Marcus Nasty B2B Scar Duggy w/ Mic Man Frost, DJ Redhot w/ MC Shantie & Tino B2B Bethbethbeth w/ Dizzle Kid)
Hot Goods B2B Faded
Mofaux B2B Tengu
DAKOTA SIXX (Live PA)
Purge B2B SAI
And with that all said, I think you will find all the above to be very difficult to resist, if that is the case, you may just be just be able to grab on of the last remaining advance tickets here.
See you down the front!
