Few people in Bass Music today are as prolific as Mikey B. As a serially underrated producer/DJ who’s right in the middle of hectic Autumn/Winter we were lucky here at 3000 to grab him for the 5th instalment of our #Charted series.
2018 has seen Mikey go on a thunderous tear, boasting some bestial collabs with Sammy Virji & Cajama and appearances across the UK/Europe at festivals like Boomtown and Outlook.
With his releases as dynamic and as varied as ever coupled with the launch of his own label: ‘MB Productions’ in March, which has seen its first two major releases top Juno and Beatport in their respective genres, the horizons are looking even broader for the Leeds native heading into 2019.
After acknowledging all of the above, we’d be silly not to get a few of his touted tracks wouldn’t we?

The old school rnb flavas topped off with top notch bass work, such a perfect blend, this track gets me to gassed, Shiftk3y is a super don setting levels.
Notion ft Cecelia – Real
This one has a mega euphoric bassline and the vocal is just amazing, the note choice with the male vocal fit so well. This track appeals to everyone.
Loved every second of making this one with my boy Cajama, had some great feedback for this track, some one actually smashed a glass dj booth to this while I was djing when it dropped!
Francois & Louis / Riddim commission – Only Us ft Asha
The intro on this gives me the feels! Very well produced Bassline, polished sound. Need more of this in the scene.
Jackie Chan – Holy Goof Remix
Pure energy on this one, Holy Goof goes in every time, who doesn’t wanna kick like Jackie Chan!?
Bassboy ft Clarity – La La La
Bassboy a guy from my own heart, always bringing the fresh melody’s and bass sounds with a clean vocal, right up my street, and the video to this one is amazing! So nice to see this in bass music, he’s doing great things for the scene.
Sammy Virji – Find My Way Home
Sammy does a great representation on how far UK garage has come with this one, it sounds so fresh. It’s nice to have a break from the harder bass stuff and kick back and listen to something like this.
Cajama – Exemption
Hard to pick one song from my g, he’s taking over the scene if you ask me at the moment, sound design is of the ricta scale, watch out for Cajama!
Sketchi – Let Go
My boy from day dot, and it’s so nice to see him making moves, his new one under saucy records is a personal favourite of mine from him, great blend of bass and breakbeat, smashes down any rave.
Vital Techniques ft General Levy – Give It To Dem
My boys Vital Techniques teamed up with the legend himself General Levy on Four40 records, and it didn’t disappoint. More of a Grime/Bashment vibe on this one, great way to switch up a set!
