The original compilation, both mixed and compiled by DJ and producer, Bitr8, was a roaring success, topping the charts of both Beatport and Juno Download alike, featuring a huge selection of then new and unreleased Garage goodness from all the top names and hot, fiery up and comers in the scene.
The aim of the EP was to showcase a wide range of music, exclusive to both Garage Shared and its affiliate label, GS Dubs and introduce some of the labels upcoming projects. Tracks such as Bitr8 and Soulecta’s ‘On My Knees’, which remained in the Beatport Top 100 for a whole year post-release, and K1RBY’s remix of FooR and Shapes’ ‘Cut Shapes’ were some of the compilation’s standout tracks.
After what has possibly been the labels biggest year yet, this new edition of the R8ted compilation has upped the levels, once again recruiting some of the Garage scenes biggest and best current artists. Bitr8 and Soulecta’s follow up single after the success of ‘On My Knees’, ‘Best Kinda Love’, marks one of the compilations biggest tracks, as well as exclusives from the likes of Garage veteran, Tuff Culture.
Joining the big names is a whole host of exciting up and comers, with features from the likes of Prozak, George IV and Oppidan, who all of which have had numerous releases with Garage Shared and GS Dubs alike, throughout the year. A personal favourite, Oppidan’s ‘Rum & Coke’ was also featured in YosH’s fourth edition of their compilation series, mixed and compiled by Albzzy.
The full R8ted album is now available to purchase, via Bandcamp, as well as being uploaded as a mix in full, available to stream on the Garage Shared Soundcloud page.
There is no doubt that Garage Shared has become the place to be for the best, new UK Garage from the top names in the scene, all the way down to fresh, new producers who are just starting to establish their sound. Bitr8 has done a great job at selecting a diverse mix of tracks, each of which has unique elements, while remaining undeniably Garage from start to finish.
