3000 Charted #001 – TC4

Posted 20/9/18 in

We are thrilled at threethousand.co.uk to be introducing you all to our brand new artist led article series, bringing you off the the top tens direct from your favourite artists in underground bass music. Throughout the new ‘3000 Charted’ series we are looking at bringing the spotlight to DJ’s we feel have an eclectic taste in underground music, those who aren’t afraid to stray away from the standard tracks you hear in every dance and create some truly unique blends. The art of selection is a tool often lost on the less seasoned of bass fans, but it is a skill we are keen to pay homage to throughout this series.

We are therefore utterly thrilled to be launching 3000 Charted with Wolverhampton based funk infused rhythm machines: TC4, who have been collecting a bag of releases on some of the top labels in the scene, including Southpoint, CruCast and most recently their own imprint: Safebro. As producers, TC4 have really nailed their sound, combined the high energy percussive fluidity of UK Funky with incredibly punchy production techniques, carnival inspired melodies and a bag of weighty basslines to top it off.

We sat down with them to discuss their top 10 tracks to spin in the dance, the reliable frag grenades that every DJ wants to have in their bag.

Over to TC4:

Killjoy – Badman Nuh Inna Dat

Bouncy banger, this one goes off every time with excellent vibes.”

Boeke – Favela

“This one is my favourite Boeke tune so far. It’s filled with perfectly produced percussive house vibes with catchy Baile funk vocal samples.”

Fonzo & Aaee – Bowow

“This is a sick bass/funky tune; energetic, catchy and inventive, definitely not one for the dry heads.”

Distinkt – Semi automatech

“Packed with stylish low basses and skippy beats, this track bangs. simple as.”

Phlegmatic Dogs – Cuatrocats

“This one comes from a Russian duo producing UK bass on a US label, and its a high energy bass tune executed with flair.”

MOAD – Soweto

“Mind Of A Dragon’s foray into funky is much like his garage; perfectly produced with a lot of energy and movement.”

Bassboy – La La La (ft. Clarity)

“The energy Bassboy has in life is god-tier and you can hear it in his music. Complex simplicity.”

Douvelle19 – Wasted

“Formerly known as Delux, the Welsh wizard is at it again, excellent production and vibe. We aren’t even sure what genre this is, but it’s sick.”

Murder He Wrote – Game Over VIP

“The intro to this will make you feel like you’re DJing at a lavish Ibiza pool party, but then it drops and you’re back in a sweaty booth with a broken monitor and a warm can of Dark Fruits.”

Danny Weed – Creeper (Royal T remix) [Jacotanu Refix]

“I don’t think we’ve played a set without dropping this one, it goes off without fail and no-one expects the drop. Always an instant wheel up tune.”
